The Environmental Working Group has rated 43 common fruits and vegetables for their pesticide levels. Peaches and apples rate the highest. If you’re a parent who gives your child apple juice on a regular basis, consider buying organic.
Read this great post at Wholesome Baby Food about juice for babies (for starting ages of 6 – 8 months with a pediatricians consult) and toddlers. They recommend that juice be diluted with water and only be given every other day as a treat or to help with constipation issues. They also say to be sure that you are only giving juice that has “juice” or “juice with water” on the list of ingredients. Stay away from “juice drinks” that contain sugar and high fructose corn syrup.
