Give your Crocs a do-over September 15, 2008

Crocs are everywhere and you either love them or you hate them. I really didn’t get them for some time because I just didn’t understand why anyone would want to wear plastic shoes – don’t their feet sweat terribly?! But after I learned about how they’re made of an antibacterial material, I became curious and bought a pair of the cute Primas ballet flats. I have to say – minimal, sweaty feet and they put a bounce in my step.

For all of you Croc loving readers who haven’t hear yet, you can donate your old shoes to be recycled into new Crocs which will then be given to people around the world. So after you buy your next pair, give your old ones a new beginning.

UPDATE: Turns out that Nike recycles sneakers. Here’s where you can find information about it. Thanks for the tip Jen!

  1. I have a pair of the Mary Jane Crocs and they are so comfortable.

I have two boxes of shoes in our basement: one is for Crocs that need to be sent to be recycled and one is filled with sneakers that will be sent to Nike to be recycled.

I have an old pair of running shoes that I haven’t been able to throw away because I feel terrible just throwing them out… SO glad to have a place to recycle them! Thanks for the info!

My sister introduced me to Simple shoes – made of all recycled materials. I love them!
